Mixing Instructions

Rainbow Landing Nectar mixes easily with cool water. No nutrient-damaging hot water is needed. Rainbow Landing Nectar also stays fully suspended much longer, so that they will be able to get the full balance of nutrients from it.

Rainbow Landing Nectar is concentrated and we would recommend mixing at a volume ratio of 10 parts water to 1 part Rainbow Landing Nectar, rather than the 5 to 1 of other formulas. It is fine, however, to reduce the amount of water if you find that the birds prefer it a little thicker.

If feeding in a nectar form we estimate intake of about 6 fluid ounces ( about 170 ml) per bird per day, divided by the number of feedings. This amount will vary by species, time of year and your birds own preferences. Feel free to experiment as everything in Rainbow Landing is good for your birds.

For each feeding, measure out the necessary water for the number of birds and add the powdered nectar to that. Blend it thoroughly to ensure that it is completely mixed.

As with all your bird supplies it is important to keep all bowls and mixing utensils clean.

We do have some nectar customers that prefer to offer their birds this diet in it’s dry format. If you choose to do this ensure that there is plenty of fresh water nearby.

As Lories are sensitive to iron, you do want to be sure that the water does not have excessive iron. Check with your supplier. Most tap waters are fine, but filtered or bottled water might be better.
